HIS Fingerprint on ME

My relationship with God is one of a kind. Just like our finger print is unique, so is our relationship with God. No one else has the exact same experiences or thoughts with God as you do.

This is true for our “Quiet Time, Devo’s, TAWG, (Time Alone with God)” or whatever you call the segment of your day when you intentionally sit down and spend time with God studying your Bible and praying.

When we spend time with Him, He puts His fingerprint on us. John 4:24 tells us that God is Spirit. As God, the Holy Spirit, speaks to our heart, and we listen, and respond His way, others can see God’s fingerprint on us.

In a recent blog by Melanie Wheeler she stated, “There are no rules when it comes to spending time with our Lord.” We can talk with God anywhere, anytime and anyplace!

When our children were young, I would intentionally get up early while the house was still quiet to be alone with God. Some mornings as I sat in my chair, one of our children would come out and snuggle on my lap as I read or prayed or sang. They would call my chair the “Prayer Chair!”

One day I sat down in it and closed my eyes because I was tired. As our 4 children were running around I heard one of them say, “Quiet! Mom’s talking with God!

I have a friend who was not a morning person and he blocked out 3:00PM-4:00PM in his calendar each day as his time with God. Susanna Wesley (John and Charles Wesley’s mother-the guys who were leaders of the global Christian movement in the 1700’s) would get her Bible, sit down and throw her apron over her head for 1-2 hours! Her 10 kids knew not to disturb her when she was “under the tent” with God. What a beautiful picture and example for her children!

Your personal time with God is one of a kind! Just like the finger print He gave you! Your fingerprint can unlock a smartphone and your time with God will unlock the spiritual world around you. Listen to God and respond intentionally. The important thing is to do it. Daily. Put aside house cleaning, Amazon shopping, screen scrolling, etc. and enjoy being with the One who created you and gave you a finger print like no other in this world!

“Daily I will worship you passionately and with all my heart.” Psalm 63:4a

DAY 1:

What do you see right now as the biggest obstacle in your having a quiet time (Time alone with God)? What can you do to overcome that obstacle?

DAY 2:

Identify at this point in your life, when is the best time of day for you to be alone with God. Do you need to change something? If so, what?

DAY 3:

Share a comment of something God has shown you during your quiet time -on this site, with a friend, or family member, etc. It will encourage us all! 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Encourage one another and build each other up, just as you are doing!”
